Greeley firefighters quickly control blaze at grocery store | News

At 3:56 Tuesday afternoon (6/19/2012), firefighters from the Greeley Fire Department were called to 3635 10th St (Lowes Shop-n-Save) in Greeley on a report of a possible structure fire. Upon their arrival fire crews found a haze of smoke inside the grocery store which was from a burning refrigerated deli case. They immediately cut all electrical power to the burning equipment and then proceeded to quickly extinguish the fire. Preliminary investigation has determined to be faulty electrical equipment in the refrigerated case. Store personnel reported recent problems with the equipment and had recently initiated a work order for repairs. No injuries were reported and no damage estimate is available at this time.
